Metal Church is the self-titled debut album of the heavy metal band of the same name. The album was originally released independently in 1984. Based on the success of the album, the band was signed to a recording contract by Elektra, who reissued Metal Church in 1985. The cover art depicts a cruciform Gibson Explorer hidden in shadows and smoke. Some of their most notable songs are the opener "Beyond The Black", their title track, the instrumental "Merciless Onslaught", "Gods Of Wrath" (which is different from all the other songs, as it had clean vocals, clean rhythms, and fluent solos) and the Deep Purple cover "Highway Star". The album is produced by Metal Church and Terry Date (Pantera, Slayer, Prong). -

Show No Mercy is the debut studio crusher by American thrash metal masters Slayer, originally released on December 3, 1983, by Metal Blade Records. Almost five months before Metallica released Kill 'Em All, Metal Blade owner Brian Slagel saw Slayer open a show for Bitch at the Woodstock Theater in LA. Blown away, he asked the band if it would submit a track to his upcoming compilation album Metal Massacre III. They agreed and when he heard the song they turned in, "Aggressive Perfector," Slagel offered Slayer a record contract. On Dec. 3, 1983, the band released its scorching debut, Show No Mercy. -

Testament is often credited as one of the most popular and influential bands of the thrash metal scene. Their debut album The Legacy immediately made an impact when it was first released in 1987. Music critic Alex Henderson of All Music gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars, praising the record for its “thrash circles” and for being “a relentlessly heavy and promising effort focusing on such subjects as the occult, witchcraft, nuclear war, and global destruction”. It made many year-end lists including those of renowned metal publishers Metal Injection. Loudwire lists the album among the ten best thrash records that weren't released by The Big 4. The album spawned one single release, lead-off track “Over The Wall”, which the band still plays live during nearly every show they play and remains one of the most popular songs among fans. -
One of Britain’s most consistent and enduring death metal bands, Birmingham’s Bolt Thrower has weathered the best and worst of times in the extreme genre’s history without ever giving in to commercial temptations, or hardly even altering its sound. The fact that they were unusually blessed with a steady lineup throughout much of their career no doubt contributed to this stability, and though they were rarely bestowed wild praise for their efforts, with most of their competitors or contemporaries either adopting other styles or long retired, Bolt Thrower has gradually established itself as one of the best death metal bands ever to emerge from England. Those Once Loyal is the eighth and final album by the British death metal band Bolt Thrower. It was released in 2005. With Bolt Thrower deciding against releasing a follow-up to Those Once Loyal, it was Bolt Thrower’s final studio album before breaking up a year after drummer Martin Kearns’ death in September 2015. Like all of Bolt Thrower’s albums, Those Once Loyal deals with war, specifically World War I. Their aggression, coupled with a love and appreciation for the scene that so many have come and gone from, or even forgotten altogether, has let them thrive- now unveiling their tenth full length record, STILL SUFFER, releasing April 24th on Flatspot Records. Originating from Los Angeles, California, during a time when hardcore needed a band to smash things back to center as the genre found itself falling off track, TERROR rushed in, immediately made their mark and never let go. Working with producer (and former guitarist) Todd Jones, the band created ten fast, aggressive, in-your-face tracks that embrace the themes that made TERROR so influential in the first place. Songs about self empowerment, survival and an unrelenting will to face challenges head on with the values and support found within these walls. We’re proud to present the original mix of the album, for the first time in decades, as the band originally intended. Most fans will be more familiar with the 1991 reissue, which was remixed by Ocasek and bass player Darryl Jenifer. In addition to new mixes, that version used an altered track order. This reissue marks the fourth release in the remaster campaign, re-launching the Bad Brains Records label imprint. In coordination with the band, Org Music has overseen the restoration and remastering of the iconic Bad Brains’ recordings. The audio was mastered by Dave Gardner at Infrasonic Mastering and pressed at Furnace Record Pressing. -

Thrash Zone is the fifth album by the American crossover thrash band D.R.I., released in 1989. It continues the thrash metal style of the previous album, 4 of a Kind. Thrash Zone was D.R.I.'s most successful album to date, and produced the song "Beneath the Wheel", which was made as a music video and received airplay on MTV. Three decades ago, before the music industry began to colonize it, the do-it-yourself underground was a space of exodus and experimentation, often in violent opposition to the rest of the world. This was the context in which Catharsis appeared, one of a new wave of bands to meld metal drama with the raw urgency of hardcore punk. They quickly distinguished themselves by an almost self-destructive intensity and uncompromising anticapitalist ethic. Inverting Christian iconography to champion the struggle of the individual against a hostile cosmos, they took up the centuries-old banner No Gods, No Masters, extending this project of total defiance into their increasingly tumultuous lives. This apocalyptic orientation in turn informed their music, as they sought to hit upon the magic combination of words, harmonies, and rhythms that could spark a global conflagration. Catharsis broke up in 2002, following relentless touring on three continents and a final catastrophic five months in Europe.
