One of the most unique entries in the metal music catalogue, Grip Inc. received a fair bit of attention for being the first serious path taken by Dave Lombardo after his definitive demise from Slayer, teamed up with the then less-known guitarist and producer Waldemar Sorychta and vocalist Gus Chambers. “Incorporated” appears after a five year absence from the scene. Sorychta went back to producing. Lombardo went to Testament, Famtomas and back to Slayer. Vocalist Gus Chambers just went away. Getting back together for “Incorporated” is one of the best decisions this core group of individuals has ever made – this is simply their most cohesive and energetic album of their careers. -

Honour – Valour – Pride is the seventh album by the British death metal band Bolt Thrower. It was recorded and mixed at Sable Rose Studios in Coventry, England, June to September 2001. It was produced by the band and Andy Faulkner, and was released on Metal Blade Records in 2002. Honour – Valour – Pride is the only full length Bolt Thrower album not featuring Karl Willetts. -

Stress returns 11 years after the reissue of “The Sound of Insecurity” with their new E.P. “Think Before It’s Too Late” on 10″ vinyl. All songs come from Stress’s 80s recordings, for a tribute to the meeting of punk with Ska and Dub Reggae sounds, which flirts with the spirit of the 80s. A re-recording of three tracks on a 10″ vinyl edition. A3 is a cover of “Too much pressure” by Selecter, with a free translation of the lyrics by Panagiotis Skordas. -

The music is both technically demanding and extremely heavy. From the first moment to the last Power Of Inner Strength do only one thing and that is to Thrash with razor-sharp riffs, paranoid solos, aggressive and strong singing by Gus Chambers and the familiar killing drum smashing of Lombardo. The COLD I trip started 10 years ago. At 2019 their drummer Christos left the band for personal reasons and he was replaced by Vaggelis. The current line up is Fotis (vocals), Aggelos (guitar), Dimitris (bass) and Vaggelis (drums). With the new line up at 2021, the band stormed the studio to record their third full length (Μέρες Νεκρές) which continues the quest at their beloved post punk/cold wave genres. “Μέρες Νεκρές” pressed at 287 copies. -

Oeds (The Devil’s Blood, Molassess) co-wrote the magnificent instrumental title-track. And Merijn (Sparrow Falls, The Young Ones) and Erick (Live By The Sword, Strongarm And The Bullies) perform guest vocals on respectively “Empty Shell” and “Black Hole”. -

Hailing from the former northern mining town of Wigan, between Manchester and Liverpool, the short-lived Electro Hippies were a band like no other, saluted as icons of crust punk and proto-grindcore. Following some cassette demos, a shared LP with Newcastle’s Generic and a Peel session, debut LP The Only Good Punk…Is A Dead One surfaced on Peaceville with twenty songs, all clocking in at under two minutes (around half being less than 60 seconds). 22 years, several ep’s and splits, 3 full lengths and countless tours around the globe, HELLSHOCK are still standing relevant and still playing some of the heaviest riffs in the world wide punk scene. Where most bands of the crust genre seem to lose the fire and filth or simply break up before their prime, this band seems to get more powerful with each release and this long awaited LP is no exception! This recording features the addition of Robbie Chronic from RIPPER on guitar who adds some real sick fucking solos on top of the established rolling crust riffage that the original core group had perfected years ago. Neck aching tempos, sheer brutality, growled anguished vocals, and epic song writing without straying from pure unadulterated crust. For the seasoned HELLSHOCK fan, you know you will already love this album and it will only exceed expectations. For the newcomer, if they were to ask “what is this crust/stenchcore thing about?”, I would point them to AMEBIX, DEVIATED INSTINCT, AXEGRINDER, and HELLSHOCK. The name deserves to be right beside the creators and masters. In another 20+ years this record will be regarded as one of the best crust records of the 2020’s, just as we look back at “Only the Dead Know the End Of War” as a defining record of the early 2000’s. -
