BackNew Jersey thrash metal band Overkill were formed in 1984 and named themselves after a Motörhead album. They were one of the early trash metal bands to sign to a major label and started to become successful in the late '80s, when the genre became popular with bands like Anthrax, Exodus, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Testament. Taking Over is the second studio album by the band and was originally released in 1987. It was their first album to be released through Atlantic, who would release all of the band's albums up to W.F.O. (released in 1994). The track "Wrecking Crew" is considered one of the band's signature songs and was chosen to be the title of the band's official website (wreckingcrew.com). Both "Wrecking Crew" and "In Union We Stand" are almost always included on the band's setlist. -

One of the most unique entries in the metal music catalogue, Grip Inc. received a fair bit of attention for being the first serious path taken by Dave Lombardo after his definitive demise from Slayer, teamed up with the then less-known guitarist and producer Waldemar Sorychta and vocalist Gus Chambers. “Incorporated” appears after a five year absence from the scene. Sorychta went back to producing. Lombardo went to Testament, Famtomas and back to Slayer. Vocalist Gus Chambers just went away. The American thrash metal band Grip Inc. are most recognized for their inclusion of ex-"Slayer" drummer Dave Lombardo. The band also consists of the British vocalist Gus Chambers, bassist Jason Viebrooks and guitarist Waldemayr Sorichta. Following the band's awesome debut album "Power Of Inner Strength" in 1995, the fierce four-piece went on to release their follow-up album "Nemesis" in 1997. From the start of the album, the band deliver a guitar-heavy feast of thrash metal that displays the members' individual musical talent perfectly. In much the same vein as the band's previous debut album, the album thrashes out its meaty guitar riffs with perhaps a slightly slower pace than its predecessor yet with the same heaviness and depth. The band manage to take you from harmonic and melodic to intense metal of speed and aggression, with their experienced song-writing skills. This is the long out-of-print (on vinyl) LP that was made from the “Dirty Rotten EP.” The band realized, once they saw the prices on things, that to do their 22-song 7″ as a 12″ would only cost a little more. So, with that, D.R.I. did it and the “Dirty Rotten EP” became the “Dirty Rotten LP.” -
Rock for Light is the second full-length album by Bad Brains, released in 1983. It was produced by Ric Ocasek of The Cars.
We’re proud to present the original mix of the album, for the first time in decades, as the band originally intended. Most fans will be more familiar with the 1991 reissue, which was remixed by Ocasek and bass player Darryl Jenifer. In addition to new mixes, that version used an altered track order. This reissue marks the fourth release in the remaster campaign, re-launching the Bad Brains Records label imprint. In coordination with the band, Org Music has overseen the restoration and remastering of the iconic Bad Brains’ recordings. The audio was mastered by Dave Gardner at Infrasonic Mastering and pressed at Furnace Record Pressing. -
