Led by ex-Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, Grip Inc. released this debut in 1995 during the infertile years of Thrash Metal. Joining Lombardo on this progressive Thrash opus are Gus Chambers (vocals), Waldemar Sorychta (guitars, keyboards), and Jason Viebrooks (bass).
The music is both technically demanding and extremely heavy. From the first moment to the last Power Of Inner Strength do only one thing and that is to Thrash with razor-sharp riffs, paranoid solos, aggressive and strong singing by Gus Chambers and the familiar killing drum smashing of Lombardo.

25 years in and Hellshock still have a lot to say and their sound is getting darker and heavier than ever. XXV dives deep into bleak, metallic stenchcore territory, blending their trademark crust foundation with Bolt Thrower-style riffing, somber melodies, and even the occasional synth touch that adds to the apocalyptic vibe. The production is massive, thick, heavy, but never over-polished. Everything hits hard: the guitars are crushing, the rhythm section is powerful, and the vocals bark with the usual visceral intensity. There’s an oppressive, almost funereal atmosphere running through the record that drags you down with it—and that’s a compliment. Hellshock kinda reinvent the wheel here creating something different that usual that I would define “progressive darkened stench core”. Fatal Portrait is the debut album by Danish heavy metal band King Diamond. It was produced by Rune Hoyer and released on 14 March 1986 through Roadrunner Records. Guitarist Andy LaRocque joined the album recording sessions at the last minute, as the band's second guitarist at the time "wasn't working out" in the studio. As a result, it is the only King Diamond album which does not feature any writing credits from LaRocque. Fatal Portrait has sold over 100,000 copies in North America alone. The title of the album comes from The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. Wilde describes the painting as "the fatal portrait" several times throughout the novel. -

Finland’s D-beat Hardcore Punk band Kürøishi is finally dropping their monster second LP “Sound The Alarm”. While the sold-out first LP “Poverty. Ignorance. Greed. Slavery” stemmed from a traditional Scandinavian style of “Tragedy via Wolfbrigade”, “Sound the Alarm” LP leans a lot more on a tasteful Japanese hardcore influence. The Tragedy heaviness and bleak atmosphere is still prevalent, with crushing dirges and desperate melodic riffing, but here the songs are more guitar-focused, with blazing guitar leads and huge epic guitar solos pumping adrenaline to the extreme. Set that to high-charge tempos and throw in some big gang choruses with guest appearances from bands like Think Again/ Systematic Death, NoLA, No Excuse, Vivisektio and Rotten Sound, and you’ve got your winter soundtrack all sorted out.
