Music critic Alex Henderson of All Music gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars, praising the record for its “thrash circles” and for being “a relentlessly heavy and promising effort focusing on such subjects as the occult, witchcraft, nuclear war, and global destruction”. It made many year-end lists including those of renowned metal publishers Metal Injection. Loudwire lists the album among the ten best thrash records that weren't released by The Big 4. The album spawned one single release, lead-off track “Over The Wall”, which the band still plays live during nearly every show they play and remains one of the most popular songs among fans.

  • Life Knife Death, from the veteran Swedish hardcore punk band Wolfbrigade, is the follow-up album to 2019’s The Enemy: Reality. Formed in 1995 in the small Swedish city of Mariestad by key players from Sweden's legendary hardcore scene, Wolfbrigade (known as Wolfpack until 1999) remain among Scandinavia's most respected, influential and reliable purveyors of real-world brute-force hullabaloo. On this eleventh album, the niftiest skills honed to a fine edge over 30 years are dispatched with greater style and intensity than ever. Most immediately, there's the sheer velocity and barely-controlled rage pumping through dynamic d-beaten blood-shakers like Ways To Die and Your God Is A Corpse, the furious attack assisted to heart-fluttering greatness by a newly loosened sense of raucous spontaneity. "We didn’t really rehearse any of the songs on this album,"the band reveals. "We tend to overwork and overanalyze everything that we do, and sometimes we get lost in that process. This time we wanted to go rough, to capture the raw essence of the song when it’s just out of the womb. All the blood and gore." Mounting global chaos may have us all darkly fearing the end times, but it has also seemingly created the ideal circumstances for a hardcore punk LP as coruscatingly brutal as Wolfbrigade's “Life Knife Death”.

  • Abigail is a horror-themed concept album released in 1987 by heavy metal band King Diamond, led by the musician of the same name. It is the second overall album and first ever concept album in their discography (or at least in King Diamond’s solo discography, for he has been making several albums with Mercyful Fate at this time). The story revolves around a man named Jonathan La'Fey and his newlywed wife Miriam Natias as they, against the warnings expressed by seven mysterious horsemen, move in to a dark and gloomy mansion that Jonathan inherited. The night of their move, he’s visited by the ghost of his relative, Count de La'Fey. The Count shows Jonathan to a vault holding the sarcophagus of Abigail La'Fey, the stillborn illegitimate child of The Count’s unfaithful wife, who both died 68 years previous. It’s then revealed by The Count that Abigail’s spirit has taken hold of Miriam’s soul, and will soon be reborn unless he takes her life. Abigail is considered to be one of the best and most influential albums in metal, especially for one with a horror theme as well-executed as this. It’s also one of their highest-selling albums ever, selling over 175,000 copies in North America alone and becoming the first album under Roadrunner Records to break through the Billboard 200.

  • Where do you go and what do you do when you achieve near legendary status with your debut album? In D.R.I.’s world, you release “Dealing With It!,” a record that infused their increasing technicality with a love of metal and the raw, fast as hell hardcore sound that they patented. Surpassing their debut was never going to be easy, but with their second album, D.R.I. managed to do just that in a maelstrom of vicious, catchy, cerebral hardcore and metal.

  • One of Britain’s most consistent and enduring death metal bands, Birmingham’s Bolt Thrower has weathered the best and worst of times in the extreme genre’s history without ever giving in to commercial temptations, or hardly even altering its sound. The fact that they were unusually blessed with a steady lineup throughout much of their career no doubt contributed to this stability, and though they were rarely bestowed wild praise for their efforts, with most of their competitors or contemporaries either adopting other styles or long retired, Bolt Thrower has gradually established itself as one of the best death metal bands ever to emerge from England. Those Once Loyal is the eighth and final album by the British death metal band Bolt Thrower. It was released in 2005. With Bolt Thrower deciding against releasing a follow-up to Those Once Loyal, it was Bolt Thrower’s final studio album before breaking up a year after drummer Martin Kearns’ death in September 2015. Like all of Bolt Thrower’s albums, Those Once Loyal deals with war, specifically World War I. The cover shows a World War 1 QF 18 pounder field gun and its crew in action and is based on an original WW1 photograph. The picture is also found on the back side of the Guards Memorial in St James’s Park in London.

  • HELLSHOCK: XXV (LP) AG152

    15,00 incl. tax
25 years in and Hellshock still have a lot to say and their sound is getting darker and heavier than ever. XXV dives deep into bleak, metallic stenchcore territory, blending their trademark crust foundation with Bolt Thrower-style riffing, somber melodies, and even the occasional synth touch that adds to the apocalyptic vibe. The production is massive, thick, heavy, but never over-polished. Everything hits hard: the guitars are crushing, the rhythm section is powerful, and the vocals bark with the usual visceral intensity. There’s an oppressive, almost funereal atmosphere running through the record that drags you down with it—and that’s a compliment. Hellshock kinda reinvent the wheel here creating something different that usual that I would define “progressive darkened stench core”. XXV is a fitting soundtrack for the end times: scary, powerful, and utterly uncompromising. American press by Black Water Records. Limited run of 500 copies.

In It For Life was the suitably titled 1989 LP by post-apocalyptic voltage mongrels Extreme Noise Terror and Filthkick, a Birmingham-based hardcore punk group, equally as championed by John Peel as ENT were. Work For Never and Damaging Noise performed here by the former to the same exhilarating degrees as Mount Vesuvius erupts is an unholy rumble of double-pronged vocal aggression and rampages of feedback that could burst boils not even formed yet. A vampire bullied into submission and burning in the sun. Filthkick follows with Cime Without A Name, an endless, ominous dirge before being mauled by a savage dog. Between The Lines jumping in and out of focus, but never losing any of its ferocity with blistering speed and sandblasting action.
  • Hailing from the former northern mining town of Wigan, between Manchester and Liverpool, the short-lived Electro Hippies were a band like no other, saluted as icons of crust punk and proto-grindcore. Following some cassette demos, a shared LP with Newcastle’s Generic and a Peel session, debut LP The Only Good Punk…Is A Dead One surfaced on Peaceville with twenty songs, all clocking in at under two minutes (around half being less than 60 seconds). Highly political, deeply ironic, and with a snatch of Black Sabbath in the mix, The Only Good Punk is the band at their blistering best, the peak that preceded their ultimate downfall.
  • “Power From Hell” is the debut studio album by British metal pioneers Onslaught, originally released in 1985. It explored the same dark and aggressive terrain as early Slayer and helped shape a sound that would later evolve into something even more extreme. With its raw intensity and relentless energy, the album became an important part of heavy music history, influencing and shaping the early works of legendary bands such as Exodus, Slayer, and Metallica. Nearly four decades later, “Power From Hell” remains a defining statement of its era.”
  • “The Force” is the second studio album by English metal pioneers Onslaught, originally released in 1986. Building on the raw intensity of Power From Hell, this release took their sound to new heights, earning its place as a classic among fans and critics alike. With relentless drumming, a diverse arsenal of razor-sharp riffs, and a commanding vocal performance, The Force delivered a defining statement of power and aggression. Its impact resonated across the scene, influencing bands like Exodus, Slayer, and Metallica, and leaving a lasting mark on the evolution of extreme music.

THIS IS A PRE-ORDER! Your record will be available for pickup or will ship on or around late April. Nobody could have ever guessed the trajectory that hardcore would have taken back when this movement was first formed. And in the early 2000s, nobody would have guessed that a band like TERROR would still be one of the most influential bands in the subgenre, 24 years after their start. Their aggression, coupled with a love and appreciation for the scene that so many have come and gone from, or even forgotten altogether, has let them thrive- now unveiling their tenth full length record, STILL SUFFER, releasing April 24th on Flatspot Records. Originating from Los Angeles, California, during a time when hardcore needed a band to smash things back to center as the genre found itself falling off track, TERROR rushed in, immediately made their mark and never let go. Working with producer (and former guitarist) Todd Jones, the band created ten fast, aggressive, in-your-face tracks that embrace the themes that made TERROR so influential in the first place. Songs about self empowerment, survival and an unrelenting will to face challenges head on with the values and support found within these walls. STILL SUFFER was rounded out with engineering and some additional production by Taylor Young at The Pit Recording Studio, mixing by Jon Markson, and mastering by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, with additional vocal engineering by Jay Zubricky at GCR Audio, and drum engineering at Studio 606 by Taylor Young and Oliver Roman. Guest vocals on the album come from Jay Peta of Mindforce on “Beauty in the Losses,” Brody King of God’s Hate and Dan Seely of King Nine on “Deconstruct It,” along with Hot Water Music’s Chuck Ragan providing an assertive delivery on “Fear The Panic,” a song which was also co-produced by New Found Glory’s Chad Gilbert. From the start, TERROR has never turned their back on the things that made this band so vital since its inception. With the release of STILL SUFFER, it’s clear that the band has no sign of letting up, continuing to succeed on their mission to deliver hardcore authentic to themselves and to show the world that this is much more than just music. This community and movement that nobody can truly put into words, is the exact place the energy comes from that fuels TERROR to continue to build and grow with STILL SUFFER.

  • Μορμώ (Mormo) is not new to this game. All members used to play in the legendary Greek crust band Dyspnea from Tyrnavos and they still carry the flame of that scene where back in the day bands like them, Xamos, The Malloy's Kids, Legal Pain, Social Security and others made noise and disrupted the quite life of this small rural town of central Greece. "Δυστοπία" (Greek for Dystopia) is their second album. Τhey have started a unique take on crust that centers on a more dark, esoteric and elegant sound that has transcended the constant d-beat pounding, fast paces and seer aggression of the genre with longer song structures, slower tempos, more complex songwriting and lots of atmosphere while still winking at the sound and aesthetics of beloved crust bands of the past. It’s like combining “Darker Days Ahead” by Tragedy with “Crack the Skye” by Mastodon, some black metal influences, krautrock rhythmic segments and lots of pagan myths of Thessaly. Μορμώ (Mormo) is doing to crust, is what Joy Division did to punk.
