Just one year after unleashing their debut album Power And Pain, Whiplash were back with the follow-up Ticket to Mayhem. The band had experienced a few changes in the short interim between both albums, beginning with their drummer Tony Scaglione, who joined Slayer (just briefly). But more important, vocalist/guitarist Tony Portaro and bassist Tony Bono explored a broader range of lyrical subjects, tempos, and arrangements on this second album. This album sounds somewhat cleaner, more mature and has a more professional “produced” sound. Ticket to Mayhem showed that Whiplash possessed both the chops and pedigree to hang in with all the top league thrash bands of the era. Ticket To Mayhem is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually. -

American crossover thrash metal band Suicidal Tendencies was formed in 1980 by vocalist Mike Muir. To follow up on the success of their self-titled debut album, they released Join The Army in 1987. The album is arguably one of their most popular efforts and features the popular tracks “War Inside My Head”, “Possessed To Skate” and “Join The Army”. It was the first album to feature Rocky George on guitar and R.J. Herrera on drums, and the last recording with Louiche Mayorga on bass. Join The Army features the track “Human Guinea Pig”, which previously only appeared on CD. The vinyl package also includes an insert with lyrics. -

BackNew Jersey thrash metal band Overkill were formed in 1984 and named themselves after a Motörhead album. They were one of the early trash metal bands to sign to a major label and started to become successful in the late '80s, when the genre became popular with bands like Anthrax, Exodus, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Testament. Taking Over is the second studio album by the band and was originally released in 1987. It was their first album to be released through Atlantic, who would release all of the band's albums up to W.F.O. (released in 1994). The track "Wrecking Crew" is considered one of the band's signature songs and was chosen to be the title of the band's official website (wreckingcrew.com). Both "Wrecking Crew" and "In Union We Stand" are almost always included on the band's setlist. -

BackMetal Church is the self-titled debut album of the heavy metal band of the same name. The album was originally released independently in 1984. Based on the success of the album, the band was signed to a recording contract by Elektra, who reissued Metal Church in 1985. The cover art depicts a cruciform Gibson Explorer hidden in shadows and smoke. Some of their most notable songs are the opener "Beyond The Black", their title track, the instrumental "Merciless Onslaught", "Gods Of Wrath" (which is different from all the other songs, as it had clean vocals, clean rhythms, and fluent solos) and the Deep Purple cover "Highway Star". The album is produced by Metal Church and Terry Date (Pantera, Slayer, Prong). -
