Show No Mercy is the debut studio crusher by American thrash metal masters Slayer, originally released on December 3, 1983, by Metal Blade Records. Almost five months before Metallica released Kill ‘Em All, Metal Blade owner Brian Slagel saw Slayer open a show for Bitch at the Woodstock Theater in LA. Blown away, he asked the band if it would submit a track to his upcoming compilation album Metal Massacre III. They agreed and when he heard the song they turned in, “Aggressive Perfector,” Slagel offered Slayer a record contract. On Dec. 3, 1983, the band released its scorching debut, Show No Mercy. -
Don't Break the Oath is the second studio album by Danish heavy metal band Mercyful Fate, released in 1984. The style Mercyful Fate employed on Don't Break the Oath resembled a mixture of heavy metal with progressive elements, lyrically preoccupied with Satan and the occult and distinguished by King Diamond's theatrical vocals. Although very influential to future black metal bands due to its lyrical content, the music itself is more reminiscent of traditional heavy metal. -

Fatal Portrait is the debut album by Danish heavy metal band King Diamond. It was produced by Rune Hoyer and released on 14 March 1986 through Roadrunner Records. Guitarist Andy LaRocque joined the album recording sessions at the last minute, as the band's second guitarist at the time "wasn't working out" in the studio. As a result, it is the only King Diamond album which does not feature any writing credits from LaRocque. Fatal Portrait has sold over 100,000 copies in North America alone. The title of the album comes from The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. Wilde describes the painting as "the fatal portrait" several times throughout the novel. -
Formed in Würzburg, Bavaria, in 1986, by friends an ex-Warhead members Axel Blaha (drums) and Charly Steinhauer (vocals/guitar), Paradox quickly developed into one of the most important bands of the second wave of Teutonic speed and thrash metal. The line-up was completed by second guitarist Markus Spyth and Roland Stahl on bass. Their first, untitled demo tape, recorded the same year and containing seven self-penned numbers, took the German metal scene by storm. Gleaming reviews in Metal Hammer and Rock Hard followed, and as a result Paradox were soon hailed as the German answer to Metallica. Product of Imagination is the debut album of the German thrash / speed metal band Paradox. It was released in 1987 through Roadrunner Records. Product of Imagination was generally well received and praised by the media following its release in October 1987. It was voted "LP of the month" in the magazines Rock Hard and Metal Hammer, the latter of which claimed that the album was the best German debut since Helloween's Walls of Jericho. The album was also given high scores in the English magazine Kerrang! and also in Japan's Burrn!.[3] After the release of their debut, Paradox was named "Newcomer #1" by the press in Germany.[4] The band was also ranked as the third best band in Germany in polls conducted by the German editions of Rock Hard and Metal Hammer, being ranked below the Scorpions and Accept. Bad Brains is the self-titled debut studio album recorded by American hardcore punk/reggae band Bad Brains. Recorded in 1981 and released on (then) cassette-only label ROIR on February 5, 1982, many fans refer to it as “The Yellow Tape” because of its yellow packaging. Though Bad Brains had recorded the 16 song Black Dots album in 1979 and the 5-song Omega Sessions EP in 1980, the ROIR cassette was the band’s first release of anything longer than a single. This reissue marks the second release in the remaster campaign, re-launching the Bad Brains Records label imprint. In coordination with the band, Org Music has overseen the restoration and remastering of the iconic Bad Brains’ recordings. The audio was mastered by Dave Gardner at Infrasonic Mastering and pressed at Furnace Record Pressing. -

Μορμώ (Mormo) is not new to this game. All members used to play in the legendary Greek crust band Dyspnea from Tyrnavos and they still carry the flame of that scene where back in the day bands like them, Xamos, The Malloy's Kids, Legal Pain, Social Security and others made noise and disrupted the quite life of this small rural town of central Greece. "Δυστοπία" (Greek for Dystopia) is their second album. Τhey have started a unique take on crust that centers on a more dark, esoteric and elegant sound that has transcended the constant d-beat pounding, fast paces and seer aggression of the genre with longer song structures, slower tempos, more complex songwriting and lots of atmosphere while still winking at the sound and aesthetics of beloved crust bands of the past. It’s like combining “Darker Days Ahead” by Tragedy with “Crack the Skye” by Mastodon, some black metal influences, krautrock rhythmic segments and lots of pagan myths of Thessaly. Μορμώ (Mormo) is doing to crust, is what Joy Division did to punk. -

Nobody could have ever guessed the trajectory that hardcore would have taken back when this movement was first formed. And in the early 2000s, nobody would have guessed that a band like TERROR would still be one of the most influential bands in the subgenre, 24 years after their start. Their aggression, coupled with a love and appreciation for the scene that so many have come and gone from, or even forgotten altogether, has let them thrive- now unveiling their tenth full length record, STILL SUFFER, releasing April 24th on Flatspot Records. Originating from Los Angeles, California, during a time when hardcore needed a band to smash things back to center as the genre found itself falling off track, TERROR rushed in, immediately made their mark and never let go. Working with producer (and former guitarist) Todd Jones, the band created ten fast, aggressive, in-your-face tracks that embrace the themes that made TERROR so influential in the first place. Songs about self empowerment, survival and an unrelenting will to face challenges head on with the values and support found within these walls. STILL SUFFER was rounded out with engineering and some additional production by Taylor Young at The Pit Recording Studio, mixing by Jon Markson, and mastering by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, with additional vocal engineering by Jay Zubricky at GCR Audio, and drum engineering at Studio 606 by Taylor Young and Oliver Roman. Guest vocals on the album come from Jay Peta of Mindforce on “Beauty in the Losses,” Brody King of God’s Hate and Dan Seely of King Nine on “Deconstruct It,” along with Hot Water Music’s Chuck Ragan providing an assertive delivery on “Fear The Panic,” a song which was also co-produced by New Found Glory’s Chad Gilbert. From the start, TERROR has never turned their back on the things that made this band so vital since its inception. With the release of STILL SUFFER, it’s clear that the band has no sign of letting up, continuing to succeed on their mission to deliver hardcore authentic to themselves and to show the world that this is much more than just music. This community and movement that nobody can truly put into words, is the exact place the energy comes from that fuels TERROR to continue to build and grow with STILL SUFFER.
